Bear kills moose in driveway!

HOMER, Alaska - Odd sounds outside their home woke Gary and Terri Lyon early Sunday morning, so Gary got up to check it out. He looked outside and saw a 500-pound grizzly bear killing an adult moose in their driveway.

"She tore apart the chest cavity, ripped out the heart and ate it," Gary said. "It was like she knew that's what kept it alive."

about 30 minutes before Dude posted that a friend of mine sent me a link to the three youtube videos of the event. She used to live in Alaska.

Too bad they didn't get video of the bear taking the moose down, that would have been a good fight to see.

Doesn't look like there was much of a fight.

it shows the moose struggling a bit, so it was still alive. the fight would've been cool, though. it was probably already injured or something...

Don't know much about moose, but if it were a bullmoose in mating season, I think he would have put up one heck of a fight. I heard they are meannnn bastids at that time of year. Maybe even more dangerous than grizzlies...

If it was mating season then either this one was already injured or it was a female? Forgive me, I can't watch the vids at work here. Boo.

Why is it that kids can watch people getting shot on TV, but as soon as an animal is killed, people complain about the content?
