I was bored at work today and thumbing through How To Brew. In the section about porter recipes, Palmer says that a "true" brown porter made of all brown malt needs to age six months for the flavors to mellow out. I recently made a brown porter that had about 36% of the grain bill as brown malt. How long would you think I need to age this beer?

OG is 1.045, if that helps.

Cue Dance of with Swivelheads (for you Bueller fans....)

In my limited exp with Porters I have found I like them after about 2 months and still like them with almost a year of aging on them. However the taste is different. Not always better but different.

Hate to say it depends, but.... it depends based on what you like.
