I am entering a coconut porter into a competition soon and cant quite figure out where to enter it. Spectialty??, Fruit???, Spice/Vegetable???

has anyone entered one before?

Specialty for sure.

I tried a Cherry Coconut Stout in a comp i judged recently and loved it. Good luck!

I entered my coconut porter as a fruit beer 20A. Won the category. Yooper apparently thinks 21A is the right category, though.

I would say *not* category 23 unless there are other things about the beer that would put it out of style for 20 or 21A.
e.g. if you added vanilla to a coconut porter, or it was a smoked coconut porter, etc.

Coconut is a fruit so 20A would certainly be a good category too for it. Depends on how you're feeling about the competition
