I pitched a Wyeast London III into a 2L starter last night. When I got home from work today I discovered that it had overflowed pushing the foam cork out of the flask. The cork was kind of just sitting on top of the flask, possibly exposing the started to direct contact with the air in my apartment. There is still a lot of yeast in the flask, so amount of yeast isn't my concern, I'm more worried about infection. Has anyone had any experience with this?

You shouldnt cork your starter, or any fermenting liquid! As you have seen it can explode! Just cover the flask with loose fitting foil.
It should be fine though!

It was one of those foam corks that comes with a yeast starter kit from Norther Brewer. Thanks for the advise.
