It has been 72 hours since I have pitched my yeast and I have no fermintation taking place. This was my first time using liquid yeast and I was told that it takes longer than dry yeast for fermintation to begin . I am wondering how long do I give this batch to begin fermintation before repitching some yeast. Help me Home Brew Community.

Which yeast?

At what temp did you pitch?

What temp is it at?

Did you aerate? If so, how?

Did you check the "Use by" date on the yeast?

How did you get it? Was it shipped to you? From where? Where do you live? What were the temperatures like during transport? How did you store the yeast and for how long?

And yeah.. what jowens said....

72 hours is a long time. I'd go get some new yeast and repitch, pronto.

I'd also try to answer all the questions Damn Squirrels asked. The answers should give you some indication of what went wrong.
