And it was delicious as hell. I was very worried that it wouldn't turn out but it seriously blew away my expectations. We brewed a Brewer's best weizenbeer kit and then added some sweet orange peel that we bought for the hell of it. I know that its nothing new for those of you who have been doing this for awhile but I am hooked. I can't wait to brew some more, especially stuff that doesn't come from a kit.

Congrats on the first brew, always better when its drinkable. However, they almost always are. Stepping away from a kit is easy to do there are so many great recipes out there.

Nice work! Gotta love that feeling of enjoying a beer crafted by your own hands :rockin:. I never brewed using a kit, but have always been able to make good beer with the help of these guys on the forum. If you've got a style you like, check out the recipe database and find one that looks tasty.

Well done matt! Your now officially assimilated into the homebrewing collective. Resistance is futile. :cross:

Welcome :mug:

Welcome! My 2nd brew was the same BB Weizenbier kit. Quite tasty, much more so than I'd hoped or anticipated. Here's what mine ended up looking like:

I tried my Special Bitter (well, Jamil's recipe) the other day, and it was like trying my first homebrew all over again. Every time a batch turns out even better than you'd hoped, you;'ll get that rush.
