Hey all, just getting started (three extracts so far), but wanted to go ahead and splurge on a brew pot since I'm still borrowing a friend's. I was looking at a 10 gallon megapot from Northern Brewer, which is $132. Thought it would be worth it to add the ball valve, but was wondering about the false bottom. I'm not even really clear on what it's for, but I assume it's something I'm going to want when I progress to all grain. But, should I skip it for now since I want to do many more extracts first, or will it be a hassle to add it later?

Thanks.

The false bottom is used if you want to use that pot as a direct fired mash tun. You wont need it for the boil kettle.
