I am getting ready to jump into all grain brewing, thanks in part to all of the great information here. My first recipe is a simple AG kit from Northern Brewer. I have made the extract version of this kit and have been very happy with the results.

see recipe info here: Patersbier All Grain Kit -- Inventory Sheet

The recipe calls for a 147 degree mash temp. That seems to be at the absolute lowest end of the range for mashing and will certainly yield a dry beer. Should I just follow the recommended directions, or should I bump it up just a degree or two to allow for heat loss during the mash?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mash at 147F. If you can't heat the tun, add hot (~170F) water a quart at a time to maintain temperature. Stir in well.
