I accidently left my yeast out for a day after I had bought it. When I got home I should have put it back in the refrigerator but forgot. Is this going to afffect the yeast? I put it in as soon as I saw that I had left it out 18 hours later and do not plan on brewing until the end of the week.

Any ideas?

I agree. Make the starter now. If nothing happens, you still have time to get more yeast. My guess is that the yeast is still alive.

It will be fine if you're just talking about it not being refridgerated for a bit. All that refridgeration does is slows the chemical processes of the yeasts, lowering their metabolisms so that they don't break down or eat/excrete themselves to death.

Thank you I am going t make my very first Starter.

Fungus will be amung us. Ouch I am a poet and did not know it. LOL
