Poll: In your experiences, did a large krausen result in good head retention?

Well, wheats are known for blowoff-required fermentations and great head. I assume both of these are due to the wheat-supplied proteins.
 
I haven't noticed much correlation between krausen and head. The size of my krausen seems mostly related to the variety of yeast and fermentation temperature.

There is a huge correlation between head retention and how much foam I get when shaking the carboy to aerate the wort, though.
