Tasted my first batch...Town Pump Brown Ale... after a week in the bottle and was very pleased... SWMBO approved as well. A little under carbonated but very tasty. In a couple of weeks it should be great.

Racked my second batch this morning Long Reach Ale and my test taste was positive as well. Nice and hoppy. I'll dry-hop w/ Cascade, so it should be even better

Next up is an oatmeal porter.... was going to be a stout but I bought the wrong kind of yeast and so here comes the question...

Will I be OK leaving the porter in the primary for two weeks, rather than one? I have second carboy that I would like to use to prepare a batch of Ed's Apfelwein and as it can tie up the carboy for a couple of months, I'd like to get a head start. Carboy #1 will be ready to ready to rack the porter in two weeks

Thanks for your help

Your beer will be fine leaving it in the primary for a couple weeks. Yeast breakdown should not be a problem until a month or so.
