This coming Friday I will venture into the realm of all grain brewing. I saw a post, I think in the labels subforum, where a brewer passed out homebrew instead of cigars. I'm already planning meads for both of my girls, but I like the idea of passing out beer instead cigars. Has to be healthier or something :D.

Anyway, after listening to the Jamil Show archive on pale ales, I decided to brew a single malt (US domestic 2-row) and single hop (Amarillo 9.2AA) pale ale. I know that the color will be too light for the style and there won't be any complexity at all. But it will help me dial in my all grain brewing process and it will be an evolving recipe (at least until it becomes "perfect"). I'll be using DeathBrewer's stovetop all grain primer. I left laptop at home and I can't remember hop addition timings. I know the bittering addition will be a mash hop addition. I'll post the recipe tonight.

Cera's Pale Ale
3 gallon batch, 3.5 gallon boil, 2.9 SRM (too light for style, I know, but it's a starter recipe)
6 lbs 2-row 1.3ºL, mash at 153ºF for 75 minutes
1/2 oz. Amarillo, mash hop addition
1/4 oz. Amarillo 60 min. boil addition
1/4 oz. Amarillo 15 min. boil addition

Thoughts?
