Barley wine

Im going to brew a barley wine tomorrow and want to check on a few things before i commit to the 6 months. I used distilled water for my starter, and after remembered seeing somewhere that you shouldnt use distilled water for starters. So last night i stepped it up and put some arrowhead spring water in the mix. Will this be ok? Also ive recently switched from spring water to distilled for my brews, but walmart didnt have any today, my choice was spring water or drinking water, so i got the drinking water. Will this work for a barley wine?
