I'd be skeptical of buying someone else electric rigs and 1 1500W element in a boil pot? I know that won't bring you to a boil, but will it even maintain one once there without the heatstick?

Yeah I got to say I only know just enough about heat sticks, but it seemed like he was only using it has a hot water tun, not to boil wort.
