I am in the process of brewing a holiday ale right now. It came with a packet of spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, sweet orange peel...). I accidentally added these for the steeping phase instead of with the hops. (I start the boil in 7 minutes). Did I just ruin my beer? And if you read this right away, is there something I should do different to make up for my mistake when I get to the hops?

Maybe you boiled off some of the spice flavors...but I'm sure that they'll still be there in the end result.

I think the good part about it is you know what the spices are so come fermenting time, if you use a secondary and don't feel like it has enough spice, you can always add a bit of cinnamon and/or nutmeg
