Strike Water was 165. Dropped grain bag in and stirred. Temp was 152. Just where I wanted it.

Placed kettle in oven, pre-heated to 150.

Checked temp 10 min later, temp dropped to 146. Added hot water from whistling tea kettle. Increased oven to 155. Mash increased to 150.

Checked temp 15 min later, temp was 144. Added more hot water, increased oven temp to 165.

Ok, going to check temp at 1100. If I'm still not at 152ish (+-2), should I even count the half hour so far towards the 60 min mash?

Should I wait till I can stabilize the temp at around 152 before I start counting towards the 60 min mash?
