If i needed to use some but not all the hops that come in a package, what is the best way to store them? Is it worth even bothering?

I store mine in a water, yeast, malt extract enviroment.

I just keep mine in a sealed tub, cool and in the dark and use within a month.

Sure, close them up, I toss the individual bags in a small ziplock freezer bag, get as much air out as you can, and toss them in the freezer. My HBS sells pellets in 2oz packs, which means I often have enough left over for a second batch. Ideal is one of those vacuum sealers.

I use a jar that came with my vacuum sealer. Then I puth them in the freezer. Worked so far.

I just put them in a ziplock, squeeze out the air, and throw them in the freezer. I try to use them within a month or two, after 3 I toss them (only happened once).

I you have CO2 you can use that to purge the air too. Then like they say, seal 'em up, throw them in the freezer and you're good to go.

vacuum sealer and freeze works great, a ziplock would work for shorter periods too.
