Just brewed my first batch ever of wheat and has been fermenting for 4 days and no longer bubbling. So my curiosity got to me and peeked in. Smelled like beer but muddy film on top. Is that ok. Will that dissolve or drop to bottom. Or is it not correct?

Fermentation is not pretty. All manner of foul odors and sights can be beheld. That's why ale pails are opaque. Quit peeking and start your next batch!!!

Yep, you are good to go. Don't know what yeast you used, but most German wheat strains are top cropping, messy yeasts. Sometimes the krausen will not completely drop and leave a film/yeast on top of the beer.

Pez.
