Howdy all!

A farmer friend has been growing a LOT of hops, including a wild strain he found on his property (Watsonville, used to be the major hop producer for the US in the 50's). He has given me a lot of hops from the last harvest. He saw that mildew was on one vine, so I have a bag of Williamette (clean) and Willamette (mildew). I know there are odd wines that use grapes with mildew. Any ideas on what it would do in a beer? He was SUPER excited to see what this would create in a brew.

Thanks for any thoughts/knowledge. Going to use them in a light blonde ale to see what they do, so should be pretty cool!

I'm interested in the result, though I doubt it will have a positive effect. You should make two beers with identical grain bills but one using the mildewed hops and the other using the normal ones.
