Hey, i just wanted to share the progress of my mead, cycer, and cider. Since most of the information i got for them came from these forums.

The one of the far left is my cider.
Started October 10th 2011
4 gallons of local cider
4g of Nottingham ale yeast.

The middle is the first mead i started, and it has a few blunders in it.
This is the first recipe from The Compleat Meadmaker.
Started August 22nd 2011
15lbs local wildflower honey
4 gallons of distilled water
2 tsp nutrients
20g lalvin 71b-1122 yeast (wicked brain fart made me do this)
Any ideas how to get this to clear?

The far right is the Falls Bounty Cycers from The Compleat Meadmaker
Started September 25th 2011
8lbs of wildflower honey
4 gallons of cider
0.5lbs choped dates
0.5lbs raisins
1lbs brown sugar
10g lalvin D47 yeast

And i just bottled the Cycer this afternoon and it looks wicked! Doesn't taste so bad either :drunk:

My mead was racked several time and it starting to clear right now.
Just leave it sit quitely in the dark corner of my kitchen room.
Anyway, your cyser look good.

My recommendation would be some patience. If that was really made in August I would recommend sticking it in the closet and forgetting about it for a few more months before you start worrying about it clearing. I've got a JAOM that has been sitting for 12 months that still hasn't cleared, and I have finally just tossed it into the kegerator to help it clear, and if that doesn't work in a couple more months I'll start looking at finning agents. However this is somewhat unusual, most meads should drop completely clear on their own in about 8-10 months.

To clear your mead you can do acouple things. First Super Kleer works awsome for clearing wine and mead and is only like $2.50 a pack. Within a day I would say 80% of your yeast will drop out. Leave it for 2 weeks after adding Super Kleer. Then Rack. After Racking Cold crash it at about 40F for a week. Your mead will be ultra clear
