I'm starting to build my single tier RIMS stand. Is there a desired or optimal distance to mount my 6" cast iron burners from the bottom of the keggles? They are 6" cast iron 70,000BTU low pressure burners.

Would 6" be enough? Too close?
It depends on the burner of course. But this brewer found that 2" was better than the factory 4" for the KAB4/BG14 Banjo 10" Burner. He talked to the company and they indicated that 4" was set for flat bottom pots and not for keggles.

Thanks! Is it save to assume that the same 2" distance would be fine for my 6" one?
That would be a fair bet, no guarantees but i'd do 2". Maybe make the height adjustable if you're not getting the performance you want?

2" below the base of your stand, keggles have a skirt that adds another 1/2" or so.
