I see that this topic has been discussed before, but I don't think anyone has ever come up with a clone for Berkshire Brewing Company's Steel Rail EPA. Does anyone have a recipe that comes close or a kit recommendation? Unfortunately, I can't get this stuff in NY. Their site doesn't say what hops it uses only that it's 2-row pale malt.

I'm not normally a huge fan of pale ales because they're usually way too hoppy for my taste but I love this stuff (wish I didn't have to go to Mass for it!).

I was just curious and was thinking about doing the same. I found the ALL-GRAIN recipe elsewhere. I know this is old, but wanted to help out anyway:

11# US Pale 2 row malt
.5 oz. Northern Brewer pellet hops 6.5%
.5 oz. East Kent Goldings hops 6%
.75 oz. Willamette hops
White Labs American Ale WLP001

Mash single infusion at 155 deg.

Boil:
.5 oz Northern Brewer pellet (60 minutes)
.5 oz Goldings pellet (45)
.75 oz Willamette pellet (15)

OG: 1.060
FG: 1.012
IBU: 32

sorry to resurrect an old thread but this is a beer i desire to attempt a clone and finding info on it is pretty scares. however the recipe posted above says 32 IBUs and the BBC website list it as 20 IBUs.

I wonder if the hop sched is still accurate.

I also wonder if they use any specialty grain. Anyone know anything about this beer???
