On a 40-ish degree day here in the country I created a starter using 2 cups water 1/2 cup DME. Covered with cheesecloth and left outside in a shady spot for a day. Took it inside, added an airlock and put it in my ferm chamber which is currently set to about 80 as it's housing a saison.

2 days go by and this morning I see this (pic below). Any chance I am headed in the right direction? I haven't done this before so not sure. If I have anything viable here I'd like to take it over to a petri dish. Maybe do that soon and hope to snag some early flocculators. If that is even a strategy.
