hi,

having a bit of a nightmare with my curent brew, would appreciate any advice :)

I've been making an IPA and had racked to king keg after 2 weeks in primary. Went to check on it today and found there is a slight leak because the new king keg cap and s30 i had bought has no washer to seal it.... :(

beer smells very weird and is still very unclear.

should I get a seal and then try adding priming sugar again?

As I've already added priming sugar 2 weeks ago will this cause some unwanted sweetness?

TIA

can't quite place the smell but it is not sulphurous or sour... more metallic or trub like

Once you replace the seal you should be able to just add CO2 to carb, a little more priming sugar would not hurt since it should all ferment off.

If this is one of your first beers or an extract kit odds are it is just going to suck..

ok thanks.

so when the CO2 is added there is enough pressure to force it into the liquid?
