I have a recipe calling for 10lb of frozen cherries in the secondary, but all I have is canned cherry pie filling. Each can is 1.3 lb, but contains sugar and high fructose corn syrup. The sugars are going to ferment out, but is there unfermentable sugars in cherry pie filling that is going to make things sweet? Should I add more or less pie filling to get a similar cherry flavor?

Thanks,

Don't. It's full of starch and sugar and very little actual cherries. You'll ruin your beer. Either spend the money on real cherries or canned cherry puree made specially for homebrewing or if you're poor like me, add old orchard apple cherry juice concentrate. For 5 gallons, i'd use at least 10 cans.
