Just looking for thoughts on my current situation. I'm planning on brewing a monster iipa similar to pte (1.080 og). I have all the ingredients, however I only have one package of us-05. I know it's not reccomended to make starters with dry yeast, but I have a 2000ml flask, a stir plate and a bag of dme already on hand and I'd hate to make the thirty mile drive to the lhbs just for one pack of yeast(especially since I'll likely buy a lot more than that anyway). What would you guys do in my situation???

Is it 200bn cells a pack of dry yeast contains? If so, that'd be about 10 million cells per ml.

At work we use 5m/ml for 1050-1060ish beers as a rough guide.

I'd rehydrate, then do your aeration after 14 hours once the cells had used their various reserves / lipids.
