I made this for SWMBO in an attempt to achieve something close to BMC, but with some actual flavor. I was hesitant to add the 3 beano tablets, but this beer turned out really well for what I set out to do.
This batch actually finished at 1.001. I'm not sure if that was because of the beano addition in primary (when yeast is pitched), or if my Notty just went crazy. I plan on brewing the exact recipe again, then brewing again without the beano.
It's light and low in carbs, but it has more body and flavor them BMC. The nose it a bit heavier than BMC, but it's pretty close. It has enough flavor to keep an EAC like me interested, but is light enough to appeal to BMC drinkers.
I have a party coming up on 8/30 that will have a number of BMC drinkers in attendance. Their reaction to this beer will be the real gauge of whether I accomplished my goal or not... updates to follow.
Good grief, I can't believe that I tried to clone BMC and moderately succeeded. I need to go drink some very obscure beer to wash away my shame.
