I figured out a hop schedule that I think is a good compromise to the continuous hopping technique but it was still a PITA. It's more of a staggered hop schedule I guess.
Here's the recipe:
og 1.070
IBU 60
12 lbs pale malt
6 oz amber
Strike 4.5 gallons 166F
Mash 151F 60 min
.25 oz Columbus 13.2% 60 min
.25 oz Columbus 13.2% 50 min
.25 oz Columbus 13.2% 40 min
.25 oz Columbus 13.2% 35 min
.33 oz Simcoe 11.9% 30 min
.33 oz Simcoe 11.9% 25 min
.33 oz Simcoe 11.9% 20 min
.5 oz Palisade 6.7% 15 min
.5 oz Palisade 6.7% 5 min
.75 oz Simcoe Dry hop 10 days
.75 oz Amarillo Dry hop 10 days
.75 oz Glacier Dry hop 10 days
Ringwood Ale @ 68F
I put each hop addition (all pellets) in a dixie cup labeled with the time. I don't have a watch though so I used my phone clock and it went like 7:22 add 50 min hops, 7:32 40 min, etc;
I pitched a 2 qt starter @ 10pm Monday and I had kraeusen by 6am and it's been kicking hard ever since.
Anyway, this better be good! BTW I've never use Palisade before, what's the deal with them?
