Never tried brewing a pumpkin ale before and I have been looking at several recipes, all of them different, I am going to be using fresh pumpkin that I will roast the day before. I have a spice mix figured out but my question is when is a good time to add the pumpkin to the brewing process is early on or at the end better?
thanks
eric

If you brew AG, you add to the mash.

If you do PM or Extract, I believe most add it as a 60 minute addition.

I used a total of 3 cans of pumpkin. I baked it for a few minutes and then added half at the beginning of the boil and the other half with 10 mins to go.
