I bought some home brew supplies off craigslist which included wine chems and a few sealed bags of dried elderflower. The only thing is, it seems like they've been in storage a while. There aren't any holes, and the bag seems air-tight, but would any age affect the herb, as far as the plastics getting on it or do you think its OK use them?

Smell them. I've always wanted to try dryhopping with elderflowers, they smell awesome.

Thanks for the reply. What should they smell like? I'm assuming if they smell like plastic, then they're no good?

Plastic is no good, you'll know by the smell, sweet flowery goodness. They make an elder flowerliqueur called St. Germaines, best smelling stuff ever.
