I finnally got around to trying this beer. Here are my tasting notes...

category: bottle conditioned english pale ale/ipa
price: under 3 bucks for 1.09 pint

aroma /appearence: rich orange color with a creamy white head. Bass-like subdued hop aroma (northdown?), fruity esters dominate w/ slight diacetyl.

tase: good balance between dry/sweetness, with nice residual crystal sweetness. Very harsh bitterness, probably not from high i.b.u.'s but im guessing from really hard brew water. some oxidation/stale notes. very fruity yeast character. harsh bitterness lingures in aftertaste.

overall impression: everything youd expect from an english pale ale(ipa?): balanced, fruity, bitter. It was suprisingly 'fresh' tasting probably due to bottle conditioning.the yeast's character dominates throughout which makes it a nice change of pace from squeaky clean apa's. a very good beer!
an added bonus is that it comes in a very nice dark, 'Youngs' type bottle that has a cool raised hop vine decoration. and the label comes off with no trouble...

I had a smaple last night at a bar and found it very similar to bass, which I don't drink too muhc of these days, but thought it was pretty good.
