I just moved to a larger pot due to some logistics concerns. My previous 15g pot setup had a homemade stainless steel cage surrounding a 1/2" pick up tube that worked well. My new pot (26g) setup with the existing cage leaves behind way too much wort, possibly because of the angle of the tube and the entry point in the pot of the port, and possibly due to the increased diameter of the pot. My question, is since I pump the wort to a conical that I can drain the cold break, can I just rig a small manifold with 1/2" openings to pull as much wort as suction and gravity will allow and drain the cold break from the conical after transfer, prior to pitching? I believe that's what I'm going to do, but wanted input from others who have possibly done the same thing. Any cons?
thanks
