This may be a really dumb question but I'm trying to figure out how a stainless steel false bottom works in a MLT.
I'm guessing the false bottom keeps the grains above the spigot while allowing the wort to flow through the SS mesh and out of the cooler. But what is up with the elbow piping coming down in the center of it? I'm obviously missing something...
