hey everyone, I lost my IPA recipe, and I'm trying to recreate it. This is what I have so far:
4 oz munich
4 oz biscuit
8 oz victory
16 oz crystal 60
9 lbs LME (3 lbs at the beggining of the boil, 6 lbs at 10 min)
2 oz Northern brewer 60 min
.5 oz simcoe 30
.5 oz amarillo 30
.5 oz simcoe 20
.5 oz amarillo 20
.5 oz simcoe 15
.5 oz amarillo 15
.5 oz simcoe 10
.5 oz amarillo 10
.5 oz simcoe 5
.5 oz amarillo 5
.5 oz simcoe flameout
.5 oz amarillo flameout
2 packets of us56
I know that's a lot of hops but I am unable to do a full boil (only 4 gallons) and I use muslin hop sacks also, so I've found that I need to compensate for the reduced hop utilisations
I'm hoping to get something roughly similar to dogfish head 90 min IPA, a lot of hop character and aroma, not too overpowering on the bitterness, and balanced with a decent amount of maltiness.
any thoughts?
