So everything was going well with the first batch of beer I have made in 2 years...or so I thought. I pitched some San Francisco Lager Yeast and I noticed some respiration but it was pretty uneventful and when I put my airlock on it all bubbling ceased pretty quickly.

I've never lagered anything but it seems like it shouldn't have blown it's load that fast, thought maybe it was stuck so I pitched some nottingham ale yeast and there has been a little activity but not a whole lot...could fermentation be done after 3-4 even with a lager yeast?

Here is the recipe (not that it matters):

2 lbs Breiss Dark Malt Extract
2 lbs Breiss Pale Malt Extract (Dark Gold in Color, Malty in Body
2 lbs American (Breiss) Cherrywood Smoked Malt
1 lbs Belgian Biscuit Malt
1 lbs Simpson's (Scottish) Golden Promise
.5 lbs American (Breiss) chocolate malt
2 oz Czech-imported Saaz
2 oz Northern Brewer

You didn't answer COLObrewer's more important question. What was the gravity? Both before you pitched the lager yeast, and after you panicked, but right before pitched the ale yeast?
