Hey Guys,

I brewed an ESB on saturday and accidentally popped the cork through the top, so that my stopper is happily floating in a sea of krausen. I attached a blowoff tube because I don't have any stoppers available yet. How long do you suppose I can leave the blowoff tube in place. The beer is fermenting nicely, but not violently. I don't need the tube, really. I'm just wondering if it will hurt it at all to go, say, a week, with the blowoff tube in place instead of a airlock. Thanks in advance, guys.

A blowoff tube is an airlock. As long as the seal is good and you've got a steady supply water or sanitizer solution that the other end of the tube is submerged in, then I'd leave it until you rack.
