Since I'm not able to get the AHB kit in time I thought I would put my new software to work and try to put a recipe together. After looking at many all grain and extract recipes, I've come up with this. It seems to add up properly in BeerAlchemy, but I thought I'd run it past the experts for advice/suggestions.

3lbs x-light DME
3lbs Munich
8oz Crystal 40
4oz Chocolate
4oz Roasted Barley

Hallertau @ 60, 20 & 1.

WLP 830 German Lager yeast

Mash @ 152 for 60 minutes, sparge @ 170.

Any input would be GREATLY appreciated.

Weyermann Carafa Special (II or III) is the ringer for a schwarzbier. You NEED this. I'd just replace the chocolate with Carafa Special, it's de-husked so doesn't impart too much bitterness.

Another pound of DME would help too.
