stopped by the LHBS and picked up some random ingredients. heres what i ended up with. Sgt G's Amber
American Amber Ale
Type: All Grain

Boil Time: 60 min Equipment: Brew Pot (6+gal) and Igloo/Gott Cooler (5 Gal)
Ingredients
10.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) UK (3.0 SRM) Grain 83.33 %
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 40L (40.0 SRM) Grain 8.33 %
0.50 lb Biscuit Malt (23.0 SRM) Grain 4.17 %
0.50 lb Caramunich Malt (56.0 SRM) Grain 4.17 %
1.00 oz Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] (60 min) Hops 16.3 IBU
0.75 oz Bramling Cross [6.00 %] (15 min) Hops 7.3 IBU
0.25 oz Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] (5 min) Hops 0.8 IBU
Yeast: WL Cry Havoc
i ended up with an OG of about 1.068, which is a little higher than i wanted so i added a little water during the chilling process. came out to be about 1.058.
im really anxious to see how it tastes. im hooked on this all grain thing. its time consuming and my wife hates that, but i really love it!!!
any one done anything similar, and does anyone have any suggestions on the recipie?
