Hey all,

I'm brewing an Imperial IPA. I have some home grown hops that I'm going to use. 2 oz williamette and 4 oz Chinook. If needed I could by more hops for bittering and use all 6 oz home grown hops for flavor/aroma. How do the hops look? Suggestions?

OG: 1.080

Hop Schedule:

1.00 oz Chinook [13.00 %] (90 min) (First Wort Hop)
90 min 1.00 oz Chinook [11.00 %] (90 min) Hops
30 min 0.50 oz Chinook [13.00 %] (15 min) Hops
30 min 0.50 oz Williamette [5.50 %] (15 min) Hops
15 min 0.50 oz Chinook [13.00 %] (0 min) Hops
15 min 0.50 oz Williamette [5.50 %] (0 min) Hops
1 oz Chinook [13.00 %] (10 days) Dry Hops
1 oz Williamette [5.50 %] (10 days) Dry Hops

Cheers!
Jeff

You're going to need way more late additions than that. My IIPA had 9 ounces in the last 15 minutes.

The only bad thing about using homegrown hops to bitter is you have no clue what AA% they are. You will be flying blind on this one. If it were me, I'd use the homegrown ones for late/ko addition or dryhoping.

The Williamette may get lost. I would use 1 oz at 0 min with .5 oz chinook. I would then use 1 oz chinook at 15 min. Newberguy is correct about AA but what the hell. It will still make a good beer.

Take 2:

Hops to use: 4 oz chinook, 2 oz williamette, lots of nugget
OG: 1.080

Schedule:
1.00 oz Nugget [13.00 %] (90 min) (First Wort Hop)
45 min 1.00 oz Nugget [13.00 %] (45 min) Hops
30 min 1.00 oz Nugget [13.00 %] (30 min) Hops
10 min 1.00 oz Nugget [13.00 %] (10 min) Hops
0 min 1.00 oz Chinook [13.00 %] (0 min) Hops
0 min 1.00 oz Nugget [13.00 %] (0 min) Hops
2.00 oz Williamette [5.50 %] (Dry Hop 7 days) Hops
1.00 oz Chinook [11.00 %] (Dry Hop 7 days) Hops

Will the willamette be lots in the beer? Suggestions?

Cheers!
Jeff
