I'm having a major difference in recommended starter size between these two sources. Beersmith wants me to pitch a 2.24L starter while Mr. Malty is saying 1L. I've used Mr. Malty up to this point and am new to Beersmith so I will go with Mr. Malty for tonight.

However, anyone else notice this problem? Which is more accurate?

Stir plate? Mr. Malty recommends a 1L for beers I plan in the future with a stir plate.

I chose the option for intermediate shaking. Even so I just checked Mr. Malty is giving me 1L for still plate and/or shaking. Beersmith is saying 0.54L for stir plate??
