Bottles Anyone?

Paid $30 a dozen for brown grolsh bottles from my HBS. Bought 30 emerald green ones, a dozen cobalt blue wine bottles and a gallon jug for $13 at the bottle depo.

still cant find any 375ml, but crazy awesome prices for anything else.

why pay $8 a gallon jug when you can get them for $.50???

Um, 'cause we don't have a "bottle depo"?

Anyway, sounds like a good deal for those. $30 for a case seems pretty high to me, BUT, as I have learned the hard-way, sometimes there is no other choice.

what's a "bottle depo"? i understand what it would be by the name, but as wild bill says, "Um, 'cause we don't have a "bottle depo"?"

I think Bottle Depot is Canada's recycling centers.

Edit: I could be wrong.

Labrat, correct . Just a big recycling center. Thought I would check it out before I bought more expensive bottles for my current brew.

Had half gallon jugs for $.25. One gallons for $.50. Beats the heck out of paying $6 for a half gallon and $8 for a gallon....

Blues are these brand new bottles? Brand new swing tops are kinda pricey, but once they are used their value is significantly lower.

If I had to pay that kind of money for bottles I would be buying Grolsch and drinking it and refilling those bottles!

From the HBS they were new, obviously the recycled one were not. Paid $0.20 a bottle recycled, and I can buy new caps and seals for cheap. Works for me.

Uhhh... Is there any interest in reselling these? I have no problem buying used as we sanitize with bleach(usually soak in a solution for an hour or two just so we don't have to scrub much). You could set-up a nice homebrew supply distribution I think.
