Anyone use special roast in an American Pale ale before?

If not would this work, or is it a bad idea?

AHB says it will add a tangy sourdough or biscuity flavor. I was thinkin in a small amount maybe .25# it could be interesting.

Should be fine, it works in British pales/bitters as well.

I use Victory(which is somewhat similar) in a pale ale and it's great. I use 6 oz in a 5.5 gallon batch or a tad over 3%. It's very subtle in the background but you can taste it.

i just made a pale ale with 1/3 lb of Special B for 5.5 gallons

we'll see how it turns out, i just brewed it on Nov 30.

Special B is a dark crystal malt, very different color/flavor from Special Roast.
