So I'm only on the 2nd week in lagering of what is gonna be a great Vienna lager..and since I don't have the equipment for kegging yet, I am forced to bottle everything. Since this is my first lager beer, I want to know how to store the beer after it is bottled in order to get the proper carbonation levels. Do I store at room temp. like an ale or do I need to keep them at cooler temps so I don't ruin the beer?

I usually store lagers around 55 degrees and then cool them down to around 40 for a week or two before drinking.

Is storing at 55 the low threshold the sugars need in order to do their job in carbonating properly before halting them at 40 degrees?
