so my amarillo IPA

7.00 lb Extra Light Dry Extract (3.0 SRM) Dry Extract 93.33 %
0.50 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 40L (40.0 SRM) Grain 6.67 %
2.00 oz Amarillo Gold [7.20 %] (60 min) Hops 30.8 IBU
2.00 oz Amarillo Gold [7.20 %] (15 min) Hops 15.3 IBU
2.00 oz Amarillo Gold [7.20 %] (dry hop)
1 Pkgs California Ale (White Labs #WLP001) Yeast-Ale
Primary 1 month no secondary. dry hopped in primary
OG 1.066
FG 1.014

wow i got a good fermentation on this one. tastes amazing at bottling! :ban:

A lot of brewers overlook a proper terminal gravity. Glad to see yours finished well. I think the xtra light extract and dry hopping has a lot to do with it. When I hear someone using dark extract I'm expecting a "stuck at 1.020" thread to follow.
 
man i have had great luck using wlp001 california ale yeast. this is the third time ive used it and im very happy with it. :mug:
 
I have an ipa concoction in primary right now (2gallon batch) with a vial of wlp001 cal ale yeast. I'll see how it turns out and if it's worth fussing with OVER US05 dry cal ale.

Very true. I was stuck at 1020 with dark extract.
