Hi all. Trying to convert an all-grain recipe to extract, and was looking for some input.
Here is the original version. The recipe in question is a 6-gallon all-grain Gumballhead Clone. My recipe is scaled down to 5-gallon extract with specialty grains. Here it is:
3lb wheat dme
2lb 8oz x-light dme
1lb caravienne
.25 oz amarillo first wort hop (steeped with the caravienne)
.25oz amarillo @60
.5oz amarillo @15
1.5oz amarillo @5
1oz amarillo@1
1oz amarillo dry hopped 7 days
If you look, you'll notice that I did not scale the hop schedule back except for dry hopping. I chose not to scale it back for two reasons. Firstly, I am expecting to lose some hop utilization due to extract brewing, and secondly, I do not want to bother measuring esoteric amounts (.9375oz, for instance).
This will be fermented with Safale S-05.
What do you guys think?
