found an old five or six gallon glass jug in my motherinlaws garage. it has a wide mouth(2and a quarter inch across) and it has pyrex made in usa on the side. sorry no pics. think i will use it to make some mead

I think I have one of those. If it's the same as mine, it's an old acid carboy typically used to ship large volumes of research grade acids. I got mine free from a lab I worked at, they didn't use it and were looking to get rid of it anyways.

Works really well for just about anything. I got a really large rubber stopper for it but lately I've just been using it in place of a bottling bucket (I use an autosiphon instead of a spigot).
