I've got a flat false bottom that is a little too small for my 10 gallon cooler. It's just under 11 inches and won't fit nice and tight in the cooler. I was thinking about trying to dome the small guy so it could be usable.

Any ideas how I'd go about this with thicker (16 gauge) stainless steel?

Thanks.

Unless you have an english wheel, you won't be able to without creasing the edges, making it impossible to seal. You could get a stainless braid that was the same length as the circumference and stitch it around the edge on the bottom side. Then bolt in some standoffs on the false bottom slightly shorter than the braid is tall. If that makes any sense.
