If you loose some yeast and other particles through your blowoff tube, does it affect the quality of the Yeast I plan on washing and re-using.

I cant see it affecting the quality but maybe the quantity... ?

I'm sure it will work. You would need to make a hefty starter with the harvested yeast though to grow enough cells to pitch to a new batch.

Yea i just replaced the blow off with my airlock this morning and sure enough there was just a thin layer of what seemed to be a nice clean yeast in the blow off bucket...

I actually thought about just washing out the trub and hops particles and taking the yeast from the blowoff bucket..

I starting to see a nice cake forming in the primary so i should be able to rinse/re-use.
