Hey guys, I have another newbie question. I just brewed my first batch of beer 3 days ago. My (1 fermenting bucket) kit came with a racking cane (with a red clip on it) AND an auto-siphon. Does anyone know why they include both of these in the kit? It seems like you would only need the auto-siphon to transfer the beer from 1 place to another. Do they include the racking cane just for the heck of it, in case you prefer to use that instead?

Out of every forum I have ever been a member of for my various hobbies, the people on here are the nicest and most helpful.

Thanks again.

Auto-siphon's can break/clog so it's nice to have a back up. They are also really cheap so there isn't really extra expense in them adding one. Probably just as a backup or preference thing.

My Auto-siphon broke so I use the racking cane now. I should order a backup.
