I just brewed my first batch last night and I am pretty sure I lost a decent amount of water through evaporation. I have a 6 gallon bucket and it looks like it is about half full. I was aiming for a 5 gallon batch. Would it be okay to add a gallon or so today?
 
you'd want to know the OG first. was it a lot higher than you planned? if not, i'd stick with what you have in the fermenter, if so, go ahead and boil the water, cool it and pour it in.
